The Dobbins Family own and operate Photography by Dixie portrait studio in Wichita Falls, Texas and was Voted TEXOMAS BEST Photography Studio in the year of 2005

Dixie has been formally trained in Photography, from Odessa College, Amarillo College and finally Texas Tech University in 1988. She then pursued her photography degree from New York Institue of Photography in 1992. Her first photography job was as a staff Photographer for a Texas Newspaper, where she photographed the likes of Millionaire Ross Perot, Former Texas Govenor Ann Richards, Bob Bullock and JFK friend, John Connally. Her images were often chosen for the front page and special features. Some of her award winning images were taken from helicopters, both civilian and military, airplanes and from other dangerous vantage points.

Her coverage of the Brownwood Flood of 1990 was featured all over the country. Her work has also been published in the National Enquirer and numerous other publications.

Since 1991 her work has won many awards and been displayed in various galleries including Epcot Center at DisneyWorld.
Her images have also been published 5 coffee tablebooks and numerous magazines.

Dixies' credentials are impeccable, including being Texomas only Certified Professional Photographer, a Photographic Craftsman, and a Master Photographer. She is only one of 20 in Texas to hold all 3 degrees from the PPA. She also holds 2 degrees from the Texas Professional Photographers association. The Texas Fellowship and the Full fellowship degrees. Her work continually wins awards both at the State and National Level. She is also a sought after platform speaker and has spoken to large groups of professional photographers both in Texas and Oklahoma. She is a past president of the Texoma PPA. Mrs. Dobbins also is on the board of directors for the Texas PPA since 1999.

Dixie and her husband Bruce have 2 beautiful children, Misty 24, and Scott 13 and a adorable grandson, Tristan. As a military family they have lived all over including Japan. Dixie's full time occupation is Photography and is available for Photo sessions Mon-Friday 9-6 pm. Evenings and weekends belong to her family.
The Dobbins family enjoys traveling and scuba diving.
